Tracking The Game

Move Tracking uses notation that is similar to The Board Coordinate System to identify the Pieces and the Board Coordinate System to identify the spaces on the board to record game play.

Piece Identification System

Similar to the Board Coordinate System, the Piece Identification System has three parts:

  1. Color identifies the hextant that is the root of the piece.
  2. Flat Axis is identified by the name of the Base Line Piece in the axis.
  3. Piece Name (the Piece Name may be ignored if the piece is the Base Line Piece).
The three parts are separated by periods. The colors and piece names may be abbreviated. So, Silver.Sovereign's Archer's.Militant can also be written as S.SAr.M.

Notation structure: Color . Base Line Piece . Piece Name

There is special notation for the two combination moves (see Seeking Sanctuary). The restrictions of these moves make Color and Space unnecessary.

Sovereign Seek Sanctuary with Assassin's Alcazar S <=> A.Al
Sovereign Seek Sanctuary with Regent's Alcazar S <=> R.Al

Promotion Piece Identification

For promoted pieces beyond the basic piece allocation the following notation is used:

Color . Base Line Piece [ Promotion Character (1 to 9, A to Z) ]

For example: If the promotion is to the Red.Regent and the base Red.Regent is still on the board the notation would be

Red.Regent[1] or R.R[1]

Notation is not reused if the promoted piece is captured
